Ingredients for 6 people
- 1 kg Freekeh (green burned wheat)
- 1 kg peas
- 200 gr blanched almonds
- Margarine (to taste)
- Sunflower oil
- 1 kg chicken breast (or veal)
- ½ kg carrots
- 2 white onions
- Salt and pepper
- 2 teaspoons of sugar
- 1,5 lt water
Wash the freekeh. Let the meat boil in water with onions for 90 minutes. Mix the freekeh with margarine and oil in a pot, add it to the boiling water with salt and pepper, and cook for 30’, then let the water totally evaporate.
In another pot, cook peas and carrots with salt and 2 teaspoons of sugar then add a little bit of margarine. At the same time, toast the almonds with margarine.
Put the freekeh in an oval plate with meat, carrots, peas, and almonds.
