| Electrolux Professional Helps Catering by Design Prepare Meals Quickly and Efficiently
Located in Denver, CO, Catering by Design is a catering company that offers everything from intimate sit‐down dinners to large corporate barbeques. The 32,000 ft.2 Catering by Design facility has an 8,000 ft.2 kitchen and a tasting room, along with fifty full time staff members – 15 of which are solely devoted to the kitchen ‐ to best serve your culinary needs. Through the years, Catering by Design has come to be nationally recognized as the ‘Catering Company of the Year’ for 2008 by Event Solutions Magazine, and an ACE award recipient for ‘Catering Company of the Western Region’ in 2007 by Catersource Magazine.
Chef owned and operated by Chef Cade Nagy and his wife Ingrid, Catering by Design depends on Electrolux Professional products to keep up with its catering demands. The Nagys were originally hired by Catering by Design in 1996 to start the catering division. In 2001, they bought the business and two years ago bought the Denver facility. “As part of the negotiations to buy the building, we demanded that the Electrolux Professional products [that were already installed] stay in the kitchen,” said Chef Cade.
Catering by Design has an Electrolux air‐o‐chill® 102 blast chiller/freezer and air‐osteam® 102 combi oven which together comprise the air‐o‐system® – Electrolux’s completely integrated cooking solution – as well as the Electrolux Dito Bermixer handheld mixer in its facility. “The equipment is phenomenal and so easy to use. Since the equipment was already in the building, we had to figure out how to work the machines on our own. We had no problems learning how to operate it and didn’t even need any directions,” said Chef Cade.
Catering by Design also uses the banqueting racks that are able to slide the cooked food from the air‐o‐steam® combi oven directly into the air‐o‐chill® blast chiller/freezer, saving valuable time and energy. “The chefs fight over using the Electrolux equipment. They are always competing over who gets to use the equipment at a certain time,” said Chef Cade.
