The pride and joy of Swedish chef Christian Sandefeldt is the two tonnes of stainless steel sitting in the middle of his open plan kitchen at “Deep”, seafood restaurant in the upmarket Imperial Wharf, Chelsea residential and retail development in London, UK.
“The design of this unique jewel, made of stainless steel, and of technological and innovative appliances such as the double tank electric fryer, cast iron gas solid tops, started with just me and my architect, so we had the basic layout already sorted and I had in my mind exactly how I wanted the suite to be “ says Christian.
Having worked on a Molteni in the past makes it so that the suite’s quality and efficiency didn’t come as a complete surprise to Christian. What has been an eye opened, however, is the rest of the equipment he bought from Electrolux. “I’m way impressed. Especially with the fridges – they are brilliant. The quality of the steel,” he enthuses, “the thickness of it; it’s twice as thick as anything I know. They come down to temperature really quickly, they are quite amazing.” With its predominantly fish and seafood based menu, stunning minimalist décor and plush, suede-covered chairs in a restful shade of ecru, “Deep” is ideally placed to appeal to the wealthy clientele living and working in Imperial Wharf. |
