| Mathias Dahlgren Restaurant at Grand Hôtel Stockholm
On the 14th of May the Bocuse d’Or winner, Mathias Dahlgren, inaugurated his new top class restaurant at Grand Hotel in Stockholm. The exclusive à la carte restaurant Mathias Dahlgren is located in the prestigious Grand Hôtel in the centre of Stockholm, opposite to the Royal Palace by the water. The hotel was opened in 1874 and is composed of 376 exclusive rooms out of which 42 are suites, several banquet rooms, a cocktail bar named The Veranda and two restaurants, The Cadier Bar and the new Mathias Dahlgren.
The chef Mathias Dahlgren is the only chef in Sweden that received the prestigious award Bocuse d’Or, was selected “Chef of the year” four times by the Swedish trade magazine “Restaurang & Storhushåll” and received one star on the Guide Michelin as owner of the restaurant Bon Lloc in Stockholm. In May 2007 he decided to open the Mathias Dahlgren restaurant and he divided it into two parts: the Matsalen (Dining Room) where the environment is softer, warmer and more elegant, and the Matbaren (The Food Bar) that has a more informal style. Both restaurants were created by a team composed by Mathias Dahlgren, CEO and creative leader, Martin Berg, kitchen manager of Matsalen, Albin Wessman, kitchen manager of Matbaren, the sommelier Lasse Solum and the interior designer Ilse Crawford.
Electrolux Professional was involved in the project and equipped the kitchen with an air-o-steam oven, a Molteni Rôtisseur and Therma products; these appliances combined with the ability of the chef permit to offer to the customers daily a new menu based on fresh local and global ingredients. |
